On paper marriage is an equal partnership. Both parties bring something unique to the relationship. They learn from each other and grow together as a couple as well as individuals. In the real world it does not always work that way.

It seems that fidelity is quickly going out the window nowadays, as more and more affairs bring about more and more divorces. Anyone who finds out that their significant other is involved with someone else would be understandably heartbroken. This is where the “through thick and thin” part of your vows should come into play.
People stop trusting their partners for all sorts of reasons. Nothing can break the trust between couples faster than someone having an affair. Infidelity isn’t the only reason why people stop trusting their partners though. For example, you may frequently tell your spouse that you’ll do something around the house but never get around to doing it.
You may not be over the initial shock of discovering your significant other has been carrying on an affair but after a great deal of thought and discussion the two of you have decided to remain together. It wasn’t easy.
When I hear about couples that are cheating on their spouses, my first instinct is to feel for the spouse that doesn’t know. You know, the one that is living their life in a utopian-type of existence, misled by the assumption that their spouse is as devoted and faithful to them as they are.
It’s a cozy feeling, seeing and reading of other couples infidelity problems, not dreaming for a moment that it could be happening to you.

Affairs that are carried out over the internet are increasingly common, and marriage counselors report a sharp increase in the amount of couples that come to therapy each year as a result of an affair that has been carried out online.
The greatest risk to a couple still involves co-workers, friends or neighbors, but the internet enables people to develop close relationships with others despite the distance or lack of social connection.
It is absolutely amazing that in many cases of infidelity the offended party has no clue that they were being cheated on and the only way they found out was blind luck.
