  • From time to time I have to keep referring back to David Zurawik’s prediction from a few months ago

But within that overarching stucture, here is the dominant storyline that I predict will develop: Kate will emerge as the responsible parent holding the home together for the kids and providing them with whatever fun and sense of joy we see them having.

At the time I wrote “I got that feeling also especially after this. Jon is walking right into a media image trap and you can bet that many of those people who were in his corner are going to turn on him in droves.”

You could see that last part developing after the news of their divorce broke  But Jon’s escapades coupled by Kate’s media saavy (the Larry King interview as an example) seemed to accelerate the process.

Last week TLC put the final unequivocal stamp on Zurawik’s prediction:

In a stunning announcement, TLC said Tuesday morning that as of Nov. 2 Jon Gosselin would no longer appear on the popular reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8 — and the program would undergo a name change, to simply Kate Plus 8.

“Given Jon’s recent antics, there was no way the show could continue to portray him as a doting Dad, not while all this other crap was going on,” a source close to Jon Gosselin tells PEOPLE.

I suspect that this is only part I. Part II will be rebuilding Kate’s image. Which should be a lot easier now that TLC has cleared the way for her.

Update: Then again it may be a tougher chore than I thought.

Ummmm….Who is she kidding? Are we supposed to believe that TLC is paying her part time McDonald’s wages? I’m sure if things have gotten that bad they will give her an advance.

Update II: I have a feeling Jon’s story is closer to the actual reality.

“I’ve never taken any money out because over ten years, Kate handled all the banking,” he says on an episode of The Insider to air Monday night.

“Over the past four years of doing the show, we accrued $2,250,000. She says in the past week I took $230,000,”

I know I’ve covered these two pretty thoroughly for awhile but can somebody remind me again why they’re famous?

oldhandsWho are these starry-eyed lovers that dare to defy time? Meet Bill and Avis Grimes of Gold Beach. Just a couple of kids who, through some well-earned wrinkles, are clearly still crazy about each other.

Together, these two have stood the test of time. What is their secret to an amazingly long and happy union?

Yes but that ‘s because they probably never had their own reality series. Although when they got married it would have been reality radio which would have provided more leeway for them to get over their problems…I think.
