It took them long enough but eventually your spouse confessed that they were having a marital affair. The news hits you like a ton of bricks. You had no idea something was going on and to be honest that is how it should be.
You didn’t marry this individual so you could spend the majority of your time checking up on them. They like you stood before witnesses and promised to be faithful.
For Jenny Sanford enough was enough. By all accounts she had given her husband Mark Sanford ample time to get his act together and help her to save the marriage. It didn’t work and she was granted a divorce from the South Carolina Governor whose infidelity made national headlines.
When I hear about couples that are cheating on their spouses, my first instinct is to feel for the spouse that doesn’t know. You know, the one that is living their life in a utopian-type of existence, misled by the assumption that their spouse is as devoted and faithful to them as they are.
It’s a cozy feeling, seeing and reading of other couples infidelity problems, not dreaming for a moment that it could be happening to you.

Affairs that are carried out over the internet are increasingly common, and marriage counselors report a sharp increase in the amount of couples that come to therapy each year as a result of an affair that has been carried out online.
The greatest risk to a couple still involves co-workers, friends or neighbors, but the internet enables people to develop close relationships with others despite the distance or lack of social connection.
While many of us may live our lives by a certain code or more specifically a routine that keeps us grounded in the day to day realities of life, we in some ways cannot help but admire the adventurers. We may not have the gumption to do what they do but inside of ourselves we fantasize about doing something just as exciting.
Finding out your spouse is cheating has over the years made people do crazy things. This includes coming up with unique ways of learning who the other person is. Michael Sanner came up with an idea that he thought would definitely expose the guy who was fooling around with his wife.
It didn’t quite work out that way.
