There are a lot of avenues to explore when it comes to learning how to survive an affair. The fact is there is really no set time frame to the healing process. With some couples it may take months with others it could be years.
Each husband and wife needs to not only rebuild the marital relationship but also learn the root causes of why one spouse felt the need to stray.
Given all this it is extremely tough for the injured party to genuinely trust their cheating spouse again. Every time the unfaithful partner walks out the door you can’t help but think if they are going to return to their same old ways.
In fairness your marriage partner has made significant process trying to alleviate your fears. They have quite open and transparent in regards to their whereabouts movements and exactly who they come into contact with. Your significant other has also been very candid about what caused them to have an extramarital affair as well as their feelings towards you.
You may appreciate their efforts immensely. The fact that they are doing all they can to save this marriage is a positive step. However you cannot shake some of the suspicions that flare up in your mind from time to time. For instance at times they seem to return to same behavior patterns of secrecy and aloofness. At least that’s the impression they give you.
Nevermind how much they reassure you, the doubts are just not going anyway. As a matter of fact they seem to go into overdrive just like before. This is definitely no way to live. If you continue to feel this way maybe it is best that the marriage end even though that is the last thing you want to do.
The answer when it comes to how to survive an affair is to take your suspicions and fears and begin to analyze them more thoroughly. Accept that they are going to be there for now (and maybe for quite some time) and understand that while some of these misgivings could be legitimate others are the result of negative images in your mind as well as the your emotions running wild. If you are not careful they can have you suspicious and scared of everything your cheating spouse does even when reality proves they are telling the truth.
As a result it is important to train yourself to do some cold analysis. It is not easy particularly in the beginning but it is necessary to rebuilding the marriage. The key of course is your cheating spouse. If they say they love you and want to do everything possible to get past their transgression and make the relationship stronger than before it is up to them to prove it.
In learning how to survive an affair there has to be real change that you can see over time that is consistent and genuine. Sure every now and then they may want their space. That is important in any relationship. But if you notice your significant other falling into some of those same old behavior patterns that led your marriage to the brink then understand your suspicions may very well be justified.

You both must agree to talk only positively about each other, a person has both good and bad sides, and you must explore only positive side which will automatically dominate the negative side. Some of you will find it non practical, but it is true love only gets love in return.
Start respecting your partner once you give respect and love you are bound to get love and respect. All these efforts will bring a change and you will once again find romance in your relations.
