How to Make Divorce a Little Easier
by Bryan Burbank
Divorce is never easy and is a fact of life. As long as people continue to get married divorce will always be an issue. But the good news is, it doesn’t always have to be ugly.
The more things that can be negotiated with your soon to be ex-spouse out of court can make your life much easier. In this article I will hit on some of the points that if handled properly can make for a much more pleasant divorce scenario.
First, those spouses that work with a mediator and arbitrator tend to simplify the divorce process. They will evaluate your property, and come up with satisfactory methods of dividing up the assets.
Second, if you can barter with each other, this can be a means of a fair property division. You take something you want and in turn they get something they want.
Third, choose items alternately. List all of the possessions, then take turn choosing. List the items not in order of value.
Fourth, have one party divide the property into two parts than have the other party choose the part they want.
Five, If money is an issue, sell some of the assets and then divide the proceeds evenly.
Lastly, there are many ways to divide up property in a divorce we touched on just a few in this article. But the main thing to keep in mind is that you will end up with a lot more if you keep the lawyers out of the division process.
If you do not do this the lawyers are the ones who will end up with all the money.
