Expecting Perfection
Saturday, May 23rd, 2009In the course of your date something will occur to you which if you do not prepare yourself could literally bring the dating relationship to a halt.
Your date is not perfect. They are going to say something or do something that is totally at odds with your belief system. It doesn’t have to be major but it will happen.
It’a reminder that your date is an individual with their own thought and feelings. They are not going to agree with you on everything or do everything that is to your liking.
Expectations can be a major hindrance in relationships. That doesn’t mean you should not have them it just means you should temper them with realism. There is no way that your date (or you for that matter) can cross all the t’s and dot all the i’s in a relationship. We’re magnificently human which means we come with flaws.
Take a deep breath and work past it. Also understand your date is probably trying to do the same thing for you.
