Pets can turn divorces nuclear:
They are considered part of the family. And that means that they’re fought over bitterly when a family breaks up, because their worth is measured not in dollars, but in emotions.
However, pets are still considered property in family court, a fact that’s increasingly being questioned by pet lovers and lawyers alike.
