You thought infidelity in marriage only happened to other couples. Undoubtedly during the course of your life you have known people that have experienced it firsthand.
For many couples there is no going back after infidelity. Once that line gets crossed then the marriage for all intent and purposes is over. It is betrayal on the highest level and there is nothing that can be done to fix it.
No one ever said it was going to be easy fixing your marriage after an affair. You still love your spouse and have no desire to end the relationship. Your mate feels the same way. They made a mistake but want to do everything possible to mend the damage.
The entire marriage has been changed drastically after infidelity. Everything that you may have taken for granted is now called into question.
Maybe it is just the day and age we live in or perhaps it has always been that way when it comes to marriage after an affair the cheating spouse seems to have a hard time saying the words, “I am sorry”.
