Infidelity Best Kept Off The Mobile

From Pauline Askin, Reuters:

mobileHaving an affair? It pays to keep it low-tech, with a new Australian survey finding that a quarter of mobile phone users had discovered their partner, or heard that someone else’s, was cheating because of text messages.

Infidelity Decides the Fate of Jon and Kate

From Expert Click:

[Infidelity expert Ruth] Houston, “No matter who is cheating, or accused of cheating, the public always wants to know more. People have an insatiable appetite for anything related to infidelity, cheating spouses, and extramarital affairs – especially if celebrities, sports figures, politicians and others in the public eye are involved”

Bingo. Like rubbernecking after a car accident.

“If the TLC Network wants to keep the ratings from slipping any further, they need to capitalize on the infidelity rumors by putting a positive spin on things,” says Houston. “Handled properly, there are valuable lessons that can be learned on Jon and Kate Plus 8″

She’s talking about their record breaking season 5 premiere. Since then the ratings have returned to normal. But you have to wonder if TLC (which incidentally stands for The Learning Channel) would be willing to put a positive spin for an obviously teachable moment.

Update: Actress Archives nails it.

If Kate and Jon have taught us anything, it’s that nobody becomes a truly big star until their marriage starts to fall apart.
